Pink Tulip Blooms, acrylic on 24" x 24" gallery-wrapped canvas, with painted edges
Well, the rain is back but earlier this week it definitely felt like SPRING here in Seattle--daffodils blooming in the fields to the north in Skagit County, cherry blossoms are radiating soft pink joy, and the bunnies are back, much to the delight of Tobson on our morning walks.
For me, these blooms are the heart of spring and why this is my favorite season. Longer days and bright colors everywhere make for a lot of joy! For my New Joy Collection, I painted many of my favorites for you--several of which you can see below.
Joy Practice: Treat yourself to some blooms
One of my favorite ways to celebrate spring is to bring home some flowers. Sometimes they seem extravagant but if I'm being honest, there is something about having a bouquet of fresh flowers in the studio or on the dining table that brightens the room and brings a vibrant energy to the space. This week's joy practice is to bring in some blooms--whether from your own garden, your favorite florist, or your local grocery store--you don't have to spend a fortune for delight. Give yourself permission to pick up some flowers and arrange them in a glass or vase and enjoy!
This week, I'm going to let the paintings do the talking about why I love spring so very much.
