Joy multiplies.
What does that mean? How does that work?
Joy is one of those emotions that once it starts, it can build momentum and keep going. One of the reasons for this is because finding or creating joy doesn't take moving a mountain, it can be sparked by a small action--watching a sunrise or sunset, writing a letter to a dear friend or favorite teacher, knitting with bright colors, listening to your favorite playlist, going for a run or a walk, watching a funny movie (Airplane! anyone?), playing a game, baking cookies, lying on the floor, scritching your dog's ears while giving him treats...
Hey Mory--quit writing my Substack!
LOL.
Joy is contagious
See, it's the little things like that that can spark Joy. Once you've sparked Joy, it gets a little easier to do it again and again and again, until you are feeling a lot of Joy. And if you spark Joy for someone else, it really begins to multiply--because your Joy becomes their Joy, which can become someone else's Joy. There is Joy in bringing Joy to others...and because there is no limit to Joy, you don't have to worry about giving it all away.
So give it a try.
Do something for yourself today that brings you Joy. Then do something for someone else (whether it's a loved one or someone you don't know) that brings Joy. Notice what those experiences are like for you and for the other person or people in your life.
